FAQPage schema
Also called: FAQ structured data
FAQPage is a schema.org type for a web page that presents one or more frequently asked questions with their answers.
In plain words
Schema.org describes FAQPage as a web page presenting one or more frequently asked questions.
For years, Google could show FAQ markup as a rich result: questions you could open right inside the search results.
Example
The JSON-LD below marks up one question and its answer. The same question and answer should also be visible on the page itself.
{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "FAQPage",
"mainEntity": [{
"@type": "Question",
"name": "Do you deliver on Sundays?",
"acceptedAnswer": {
"@type": "Answer",
"text": "No, we deliver Monday to Saturday."
}
}]
}Why it matters for AI search
Google stopped showing FAQ rich results on 7 May 2026 and later removed the documentation. FAQ markup no longer changes how your result looks on Google.
It is still valid schema.org markup that other systems can read. Google also says no special schema.org markup is needed for its AI features.
What you can do
- Keep real FAQ sections if they help your visitors; they donβt have to go.
- Donβt expect a Google rich result from FAQ markup any more.
- Be careful with older advice: guides that still promise FAQ rich results are out of date.
